Jurassic Park and Back to the Future as...Video Games?
Telltale games certainly has a lot of explaining to do. The company responsible for the Sam and Max games is partnering up with Universal to tackle the Jurassic Park and Back to the Future franchises in video game form. Very little concrete details have been released on the topic. The most information we have is a press release quote:
"Our partnership with Universal is an exciting next step in our continued growth as a mass-market games publisher and developer," said Dan Connors, CEO of Telltale Games. "We are all huge fans of both of these franchises. For Back to the Future and Jurassic Park we will leverage Telltale's expertise in story-telling and game design to deliver on the unique elements of each series with our goal being to create compelling cinemative adventures paying homage to each franchise."
With a compelling quote like that we're practically sold. The American classics featuring dinosaurs and time travel might seem difficult to capture with modern gaming trends, but then again, Turok the Dinosaur Hunter proved action could easily be combined with dinosaurs and guns, so anything is possible. When the speculation makes room for facts you can bet we will be there to report. We look forward to seeing how these well known movies are integrated and transformed from the big screen to our gaming consoles.
