PlayStation Move
Sony is ready to capture the motion-receptive market with the new PlayStation Move. At first glance one might admire the PlayStation Move's motion and navigation controllers for its sleek design and seamless wireless interface. Or, one might think of how dangerously similar the controllers look compared to Nintendo's Wii remote, the verdict is yours.
Sony's decision to delve into a market already dominated by the Wii and soon to be acquainted with Microsoft's Project Natal, is a curious course of action. But of course, the staff at Gaming Precision are excited to see what the PlayStation Move will bring to the table. With a release date set for Fall 2010, Sony will most likely hope for a kick start to sales during the holiday season.
But what exactly is the PlayStation Move? Move is the new addition to the PlayStation 3 console which utilizes motion sensitive controllers and the PlayStation Eye Camera which captures movement in Blu-ray HD. According to Sony, numerous titles are already in development including Move Party, Motion Fighter, and the one we are most excited about, The Shoot.
The Shoot is an arcade style shooter where the controller serves as the gun, providing players with a unique experience. The demo gave a brief tour of The Shoot which included an interactive environments which can be blown to pieces and robotic enemies practically begging for the player's crosshair.
And did we mention the PlayStation Move will be compatible with both the DUALSHOCK 3 and SIXAXIS controllers? Meaning you can play Socom 4: U.S. Navy Seals entirely with Move. Soon the gaming industry will look more like the 2009 film Gamer featuring Gerard Butler that what we have today, but meanwhile Gaming Precision will be here reporting every step of the way.
